Suppose you were a new arrival from outer space and while walking down the street looking around you noticed a group of people being shouted down by an angry crowd. You ask a bystander, "What's going on?" You might be told that there was a meeting of right wingers. It's being broken up and demonstrated against because they are hate mongers, promoters of hate. So wondering what a 'hater' was and wondering what hate they promoted you might go to the internet and do a search on 'promoters of hate'. I did such a search and this was the first web site to pop up.

That page provides a link to People For The American Way. They lovingly provide this list of hate promoters.
Some names are on both lists so we have a double witness that these certainly are 'haters'. So let's examine these hate promoting organizations to see what they believe and what they do to promote hate. By examining these 'haters' we should be able to come up with a practical definition of 'hate". Let's put out 'thinking caps' on. |
