OPENING MUSIC: Let Freedom Ring

ANNOUNCER: Welcome to the Bible Law Course Program. This is a series of broadcasts about the Ten Commandants, not as a means to salvation, but as a code of conduct for Christians. In these programs we will show that all our nations problems can be solved with the application of God given law.

SPEAKER: Hello, in this broadcast about The Ten Commandments I will talk about Baal Worship.  You may have attended church for years. And based on what you have learned in the past, If someone were to ask you to list the doctrines of the Baal religion, what would you say?

    If you knew the answer to that question you could look around and locate a church or clergyman that taught the Baal doctrines, and then say with confidence; There, that is a Baal Church and that is a Baal priest. If you read all the Bible verses mentioning Baal, then you will find that God has told us all we need to know to identify Baal worship. And here is 1 Kings chapter 18, verses17-18:. These verses are talking about government. King Ahab was the king of Israel. He was a wicked king. He had a wicked government. In this verse we have King Ahab in an argument with God's prophet Elijah; listen,

ANNOUNCER: (17) And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? (18) And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.

SPEAKER: Elijah's complaint was to the king. Elijah's complaint was about government. Elijah said; "ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and you have followed Baalim." Yes, we and our government has also followed Baalim in that our nation has also forsaken the commandments of the Lord.

    The Bible and The Ten commandments are forbidden in the Public schools, forbidden in government. It is called 'Separation of Church and State', but it is separation of God and State. Can we find other places in the Bible to support this conclusion, that forsaking God's commandments is Baal worship? Yes. Here is 2 Kings 17:13-16: Listen;

ANNOUNCER: (13) Yet the Lord testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

(14) Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God.

(15) And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.

SPEAKER: In these verses, once again, we have Baal worship mentioned along with, and associated with God's law, The Ten Commandments. Let's think about these verses one verse at a time. First, verse 13.

SPEAKER: This verse contrasts good with evil. Evil is what the nation was doing, and good is keeping God's Commandments. In 2 Kings verse 13 God started out with, "Turn ye from your evil ways," and when a person turns from evil, that is called repentance. And likewise, to do good would be, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers. And so, If you do not live by God's commandments and live by God's statutes, and enforcing his punishments his way, according to all the law which He commanded our fathers, then our ways; no matter how good they seem to be in our eyes, our ways are evil in God's eyes.

    Sin is transgression of the law. (1 John 3:4) And repentance is starting to live according to God's law, and by God's judgments; according to all the law which he commanded our fathers. But what is happening today? It is just as it was then. Listen to verse 14,

ANNOUNCER: (14) Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God.

    They did not believe in the Lord their God. Did you notice that word believe. This verse makes lack of belief equal to, a refusal to live by The Ten Commandments.

   Christians are often asked, Do you believe? Here we find believing is not some emotion or feeling, rather it has to do with believing God; or trusting God. Trusting God enough to do what he wants you to do. And that is simply to keep his laws. For the government to keep his laws. For the men in the legislature to study the Bible, and administer His Law.

    The people back then, they did not believe and they showed their lack of faith the same way we do, by refusing to live by God's laws. Verse 14 is true now, as it was true then, simply because, not only does the legislature, and not only do the courts, but almost every church in America rejects Gods Law. They reject God's Law with something like, "Well, the law is done away in Jesus." Now many of you will be angered by what I just said, but before turning that dial, listen to the next verse. Here is verse 15;

ANNOUNCER: (15) And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.

SPEAKER: This verse says that those who reject God's Law follow after the heathen that are round about, concerning whom the Lord hath charged us, that we should not be like them. That is exactly what we are doing here in America. We go after the heathen by catering to their every demand. We follow after the Eastern philosophies that are gaining popularity. The New Age movement. Yoga, Transcendental Meditation, Astrology, Situation Ethics. The New Morality. In industry we are now being taught a foreign way of life in the work place. Well God describes the process with these words, "they followed vanity, and became vain." Since we reject God's Law, we have to find our law some place else, so we go after the heathen. We follow their laws. Here is the next verse;

ANNOUNCER: (16) And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

SPEAKER: Well, we don't have two golden calves to look to for salvation, but we do have an elephant and a donkey. Not two golden calves, but an elephant and a donkey. And the politicians offer their version of the Kingdom of Heaven. Their Kingdom of Heaven might be called The New Deal, The Great Society, The New Frontier, or even The New World Order. Anyway, this verse mentions serving Baal along with rejecting The Ten Commandments. And this verse says, when they left God's Law, they entered into Baal worship. I'll be back after this.

MUSIC: My Country Tis Of Thee.

ANNOUNCER: Something is terribly wrong here in America! Foreigners are buying up our business and industry; factories are being closed. Millions who had good jobs now struggle to make ends meet. Everything bad is on the increase - what's wrong? What's the explanation? What are the practical solutions?

   The explanation is in your Bible, but the Bible's forbidden in public schools - ridiculed in the media, and chased out of government. While man's complicated solution have only made the situation worse, your Bible offers practical solutions to our national problems. Call now, toll free at 1 800 (deleted). SPEAKER: It is very clear from 2 Kings 17:16 that Baal worship is, "And they served Baal when they left all the commandments of the Lord their God." And today, just as then, we serve Baal, when we leave all the commandments of the Lord our God. Here is another verse. It is Jeremiah 9:13-14, listen:

ANNOUNCER: (13) And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;

(14) But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim,

SPEAKER: Once again we have God's law and Baal worship in the same verse. In this verse God, speaking through Jeremiah says, Walking after the imagination of your own heart, and after Baalim results from "Forsaking my law which I set before them." When we reject God's Law then we become Baal worshipers. It is as simple as that.

   To walk after the imagination of our own hearts. The politicians say it this way, "I have a plan." God calls the politicians plan, walking after the imagination of his own heart. Here is the conclusion of the whole matter. It is an either or situation. You either follow God's law, or you follow some other law. Following any law other than God's law, that is Baal worship. And you don't have to go to a church to be a Baal worshipper.
