A prominent liberal Senator went to an
astrologer and asked if the stars could tell the day he'd die.
ANNOUNCER: (Opening music with Bible verses.) The first epistle general of John. Chapter five.
(1) Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
(2) By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
(3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
ANNOUNCER: Welcome to the Bible Law Course Program. This is a series of broadcasts about The Ten Commandants, not as a means to salvation, but as a code of conduct for Christians. In these programs we will show that all our nations problems can be solved with the application of God given laws.
SPEAKER: Hello, while running for office, a United States Senator said, "Don't let the forces of evil take over, to make this a Christian America." That's right, a United States Senator, he said, "don't let the forces of evil take over, to make this a Christian America." This Senator is not a Christian. Few Christians realize that agnostics, Humanists, and liberals look upon Christianity as evil. And don't get me wrong, I am not criticizing the Senator. He is doing a fine job. A fine job representing the atheists, the agnostics, and the Humanists.
And while I am not criticizing the Senator, I am criticizing the Christians who voted for him. Without Christian votes, he could not have been re-elected to the Senate, where he continues to introduce anti-Christian legislation. We Christians need to wake up, wake up and realize, that a war is raging here in America. A war of words, and a war of ideas.
A war against traditional values. A war against Christian values. A war against, the Kingdom Of God. And we Christians are suffering defeat, after defeat. Prayer is kicked out of our schools. The Bible is forbidden in our schools. In-home Bible Studies are forbidden by the zoning boards. Christian crosses and Christian symbols are being forced off of public property.
Television programs and movies, take every opportunity to ridicule Christians and Christianity. And it's not that the enemy is so smart. We are losing the battle, simply because, most Christians don't know, or don't care, that we are under attack. Others have bought twin lies of, "separation of church and state" lie and, "don't mix religion and politics."
But what good does it do, to pray to God, to ask God to do something to restore prayer in school, and vote into office the very people who vote against it? And what good does it do, to picket abortion clinics, while voting for the very people who make abortion legal?
Well, Does the Bible have anything to say about government? And does the Bible say anything about qualifications for public office? The answer is, "Yes!" Many Churches teach that politics is dirty, that Christians should have nothing to do with politics, that Christians should have nothing to do with government. Some churches even go so far as to say, it is a sin to vote.
Yet 71% of your Bible is about government! Sixteen of the first seventeen books in your Bible are about government, about kings, and about governors. The first five books of your Bible were written by Moses. Moses was not the head of the church. Moses was the head of Israel's government. If Moses had believed, as do many modern day Christians, he would have never gone to Pharaoh saying, "Let my people go."
The books of Joshua, Judges, Kings, and Chronicles are about government. They're about kings and governors. Joshua was political leader. A leader of the Israel people. The Judges were men in government. Kings and Chronicles are about the kings and their governments. The kings of Israel wrote several of the books in your Bible. King David wrote Psalms. And King Solomon wrote Proverbs, Ecclesiastics, and The Song of Solomon.
Then we have the book of Nehemiah. And who was Nehemiah? Nehemiah was not a preacher, he was a governor. Nehemiah was the governor of Judea. The very same office held later, by the Roman governor Pilate.
And the prophets, such as Isaiah, and Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, they were sent to the governments of the nation. The prophets took God's message direct to the kings.
The Book of Daniel is about government. Nebuchadnezzar and his kingdom, versus God and his kingdom. And then in the New Testament, the gospel is about, not just salvation, but also about the kingdom of heaven, Jesus Christ being its king. Jesus Christ is both king and priest. As priest, he is your savior. As king, he is your governor. As king, he involves himself in politics. And as king, he involves himself in legislation. And listen to this, it is Revelation 5:10:
ANNOUNCER: ": for thou wast slain, and
hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and
people, and nation;
SPEAKER: Yes, your Bible says, we Christians shall reign on the earth. And listen to this from Daniel 7;
ANNOUNCER: "But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever."
SPEAKER: The saints will take a the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever. The Senator's side will lose the battle! But only after we Christians wake up. Now listen to this New Testament verse. It is Matthew 11:12;
ANNOUNCER: "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."
SPEAKER: Imagine that, the kingdom of heaven suffering violence, and the violent taking it by force. The violent taking the kingdom of heaven by force. But Daniel said, when the dust settles, in the end the saints will possess the kingdom, and the saints will keep it forever. So the battle of words, and the battle of ideas, it rages here in America, just as it did in Old Palestine. Humanists and Atheists often rebuke Christians with, who are you to impose your morals on me?
These hypocrites say that while in the very act of imposing their morals on Christians, only they do not call it morals. They call it politics, or legislation, or public policy. But my friends, all legislation, all law making is religious. It makes no difference whether we are talking about traffic laws or abortion. All law making is religious.
Let's think about government, the nature of legislation, and three important words, words that are associated, not with religion, but with government. The three words are, laws, statutes and judgments. Here is a verse using these three words. Here is Deuteronomy 7:11;
ANNOUNCER: Deuteronomy 7:11 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them. (KJV)
SPEAKER: Another verse is Deuteronomy 8:11;
ANNOUNCER: Deuteronomy 8:11 Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
SPEAKER: All through the Bible we hear these three words, laws, statutes and judgments.
What is a law? What is a statute? And what is a judgment? One of the commandments is, thou shalt not kill. To protect the public from harm, even death in traffic accidents, the legislature might write a law saying, "thou shalt not speed." All criminal laws are based upon The Ten Commandments. Thou shalt not speed is a law based upon the commandment, "thou shalt not kill." Just as soon as the legislature says, "Thou shalt not speed upon city streets," the question becomes, what is speeding?
The sixteen year old know-it-all does not have the same ideas about driving, as the 65 year old retired businessman who lost his wife in a car accident. So, the legislature has to define speeding. The legislature defines speeding by writing a statute. "Thou shalt not exceed twenty miles per hour in a school zone."
That would be a statute, under this no speeding law. The statutes of the law make known, and make plain, what act is forbidden. Otherwise, everyone would be free to decide for himself what speeding is.
You see, you just can not write a law saying, "thou shalt not speed," and then let everyone decide for himself what speeding is.
Now what about the law breaker? The legislature, or Congress, they make provision for the lawless by a written judgment. The legislature might write a judgment saying, "anyone exceeding the 20 mile speed limit in a school zone shall be fined $5.00 for each mile over the speed limit." The judgment is the punishment to be imposed upon the law breaker.
Your representatives in the legislature write laws that way. They write laws with three parts. First, the basic law. Second, the statutes define the law's requirements, and finally the judgments, or the penalties for breaking the law.
And God is just as smart as your legislators. The gave us basic laws. Then he defined them via statutes. Finally, to deal with the lawless members of society, God gave us judgments.
The law is the rule to be obeyed. The statute is the explanation of the law. The judgment is the penalty for breaking the law. It's as simple as that.
When it comes to statutes and judgments, Christians want things one way, while non-Christians want just the exact opposite.
Abortion is an example. Christians want statutes and judgments that make abortion a crime. Non-Christians want to make abortion a right. Non-Christians want statutes that make picketing an abortion clinic a crime to be punished.
But the non-Christian's statutes and judgments are called politics, while the Christian statute and judgments are called religion. But they are both religious points of view. And both are political.
Every time the legislature writes a law, the legislature is imposing morality. The question is, will the legislature impose Humanist, atheistic morality, or will the legislature impose God's morality?
A kingdom is controlled by laws. Laws are enforced by the police and courts. In ancient times, in ancient Rome, Christians lost the battle. The Roman Senate wrote statutes and judgments that made Christianity a crime. The Christians in Rome paid the price for staying out of government. Christians died in the Coliseums. Christians died while the atheists, the agnostics and the humanists cheered.
Now let's talk about America's history. America's Christian history. When on vacation, if you visit Jamestown, Virginia, you will find the remains of a very old church building. This is one of the very first churches built in America. And there is a plaque in this church. The plaque states, "that on July 30 of 1619,Governor George Yeardley convened in this church building, the first elected legislative assembly in the New World." The Virginia Legislature met here in this church. No separation of Church and State here. The Virginia legislature held its meetings inside this church building. And not only did the Virginia government hold its meetings in a church building, the people of Virginia denied public office to anyone who denied the Christian religion. Virginia denied public office to anyone who denied the inspiration of the Bible.
And you don't need to take my word for it. You can read all about it in a United States Supreme Court decision. The case is titled, The Holy Trinity Church vs. The United States. Justice Brewer wrote the court's opinion. Justice Brewer spent page after page proving, that our nation is a Christian nation. Justice Brewer, speaking for the Supreme Court, he mentions state constitution after constitution, document after document. Justice Brewer proved beyond a doubt, the United States is a Christian Nation, that Christians founded its original government.
You don't have to take my word for it. You can read it for yourself. Give us a call and we will send a copy. It's free. It's part of our free sample Bible Law Course lessons on government, law and America's Christian history.

MUSIC: Our Father's God.
SPEAKER: Welcome back. You are listening to The Bible Law Course Program. We are talking about religion and politics. We were talking about the fact that most of your Bible is about, not salvation, but about government. That kings and governors wrote many of the books in your Bible. And we had just finished talking about a United States Supreme Court decision declaring, that the United States was a Christian Nation.
In early America. If you were not a Christian, you could not hold any office at all. That's just the way it was. Slowly, that high standard has been watered down. Watered down till today, anybody can stand for election, anyone can hold office. The situation is changing rapidly, if the Separation of Church and State propaganda continues to be successful, in the future, Christians will be the only group, the only group excluded from government. The wicked will have the kingdom. That is what the future holds for us, if we Christians don't wake up and do something about it.
Does the Bible say about qualifications for public office? Where did the founders of our government get the idea, that non-Christians were not qualified to hold office? Well, it's in the first chapter of Deuteronomy, listen:
ANNOUNCER: (9) And I spake unto you at that time, saying, ...
(13) Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.
(14) And ye answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken
is good for us to do. (Deuteronomy 1:9-14 KJV)
SPEAKER: Moses said, take ye wise men, men of understanding, and known among your tribes, In this verse we find three qualifications for public office, wise, understanding and known.
For the most part, we do not really know the people we vote for. We know just as much as the television and newspapers want us to know. Many good men get on the ballot, but you may never even hear their names. The news media's first line of attack against good Christian candidates is silence.
This verse in Deuteronomy began with "at that time." The verse had to do with an earlier event. The earlier event is recorded in the 18th chapter of Exodus. Listen to this;
ANNOUNCER: "Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, ...
(22) And let them judge the people at all seasons:" (Exodus 18:21-22)
SPEAKER: Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people, able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness. And who meets this, "such as fear God," qualification? Certainly not the atheist, not the agnostic, not the humanists, and not even the self-righteous liberals. Those who fear God are Christians. The people who founded our government knew their Bibles. That's why they wrote their laws, and their constitutions, to require all office holders to be firmly persuaded of the truth of the Christian religion, to require a belief that the Bible is inspired.
The founders of this nation made 'such as fear God' a qualification for public office. But the atheists, The liberals, the agnostics and the Humanists, they don't like that. When they get into power, and when they get into positions of influence, such as newspapers, and television, and government, they get even. So today, people listen to the newspapers and TV talk shows, and conclude that being a Christian, somehow, seems to be a disqualification from office. Christian candidates are pressured, pressured to promise that their Christian ideas will stay in the church, and not be brought into the statehouse. But the Humanists, and atheists are never asked if the irreligious beliefs will be kept out of government.
The television constantly reminds us, if by chance a Christian is elected, he must keep his religion in the pew and out of the statehouse.
How times have changed! In early America you could not hold office, unless you were a Christian. And public office was forbidden to atheists. Now the non-Christians and atheists are taking over, and trying to make it illegal for Christians to hold office.
When the founders of this nation came to this land, they brought the Bible with them. They believed that this land was given to them by God. Listen to these verses from Deuteronomy 17;
ANNOUNCER: (14) When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;
(15) Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.
SPEAKER: Here God says, when you come into a land that I give to you, you may not set a stranger over you, which is not thy brother. Now what does that tell you? Well it tells me at least this much. Brethren, to obey this Bible verse, I can not vote for a non-Christian, And Why? Well simply because he is not "of my brethren".
Now, I don't know about you, but if a candidate wants my vote, he must to first accept Jesus Christ as his lord and savior. Many Christians are upset that prayer, the Bible, and The Ten Commandments are forbidden in our public schools. They kneel in the pews and pray about it. But how can we expect God to answer that prayer, when we vote for the very people who make prayer, the Bible and The Ten Commandments illegal?
Christians are opposed to abortion. A few picket at the abortion clinics, and get beat up by the police. What good does it do to pray about it? And what good does it do to protest, while voting for the very people who make abortion legal?
Wouldn't it be better, to run for office? An office where you can have a part in determining what is legal, and what is illegal?
The police treat the violent protestors of the liberal left with kid gloves. But at the abortion clinics, the very same police beat up on the non-violent Christian protestors. The police excuse their actions with, "I'm just doing my job." How can we solve this problem? Well, the police work for the mayor and council. The police enforce the statutes as written by the legislature.
So simply take some time away from the television and collect signatures at the shopping center. Get on the ballot. Stand up for Jesus by asking the people at your church to help. Ask them to put up signs. Ask them to make contributions. Select someone to run for the council, or mayor, or even the Senate.
Then when you are elected mayor, then you can tell the police what to do, and who to arrest. You can write the laws, Christian laws in place of humanist and atheistic laws.
That is the American way. Those who run for office run America. If Christians do not run for office, then someday they will run for the border. It happened in ancient Rome, can happen here in modern America.
If you don't like the books used in our public schools, don't complain to people who will not listen anyway. You and other Christians can run for school board. Then you decide what our children read, and you can be the one to turn a deaf ear to the liberals, a deaf ear to the humanists and agnostics.
It's the America way. Those who run for public office, run America. And America needs Christians in Congress. America need Christians in the Mayor's office. America needs Christians on the school board. You, your church, and your pastor have a decision to make.
You put Christians in government, or you let the wicked rule over God's people. So, let's select candidates, choosing men who are wise, understanding and known. Able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place them on the ballot.
My friends, Christians are to rule and reign with Christ. But if all that you have heard is the gospel of salvation, and about Christ our high priest, then you have missed a big part of your Bible. Christianity does not stop at getting saved.
You need to hear the rest of the story. The rest of the story about our king and his kingdom. You need to understand the rest of your Bible. You need our Bible Course on government, law and America's Christian history.

MUSIC: Lift Up The Name Of Jesus.
SPEAKER: Welcome back. You are listening to the Bible Law Course Program.We are talking about Religion and Politics. In Ezekiel 22 God complains about the problems in the nation, problems that can be easily solved by having good men in government, and Ezekiel says this: listen
ANNOUNCER: The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. (Ezekiel 22:29-30)
SPEAKER: The problems were the same as ours today, oppression, robbery, and the poor. God looked to see who was doing anything about it. But, he found none. So, God destroyed that ancient country. Let's not let that happen to America.
You can help turn things around. Housewives can get on the zoning board. Pet lovers can run for dog catcher. Any office, any office in the hands of a Christian, is better than in the hands of a atheist, a humanist or an agnostic. Let's look to the future. Here are a few words from your Bible about Jesus' return. It's Matthew in 24;
ANNOUNCER: "And they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:30-31)
SPEAKER: After the angel looks over your town, will the angel report back to Jesus saying, "Lord I sought for a man among them, that did make up the hedge, and did stand in the gap before you, and for America, that you would not destroy it:
And when Jesus asks, what did you find? Will the angel answer? "I found none."
Or will it be, when the angel looks at your town, at your church, at you, will the angel report back, "Lord they are all over the place! The saints are occupying, The saints are ready for your return."
Think how good it will feel, how good it will feel, to stand proud before Jesus Christ our returning King and say, "Lord I stood in the gap." And how wonderful it will be, when Jesus answers.
ANNOUNCER: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make you a ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord, have thou authority over ten cities." (Luke 19:17)

(21) He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ...
